Bespoke Internal Doors An Innovative Woodwork

Bespoke, a typical British word which means custom made is more often used with clothing than with woodwork but here we are not discussing linen over cotton, black shirt over a white one or whatever! We are talking about the wood and the way we use wood in our homes to construct all those beautiful chairs, tables, closets, staircases, doors etc.

Most of the people who prefer to use more wood in their homes than those flashy glass or metal panels are because they want to bring a traditional look to their homes and individualizing their wood work from others is their primary concern. Some wants a grand wooden staircase right in front of the main door and some look for those beautiful closets and doors in the corners. It all depends on the person’s taste. There is a variety of styling available in wood work including modern, contemporary and traditional. All fit in well with the respective concrete construction.

Custom made internal doors fitted in the entrances of rooms, kitchens or bathrooms can be crafted in any way regarding the dimensions of the entrance. We can create almost any type of door we wish to but the styling is classified as: flat, shift, avant, cover, wayl, wayl glass, wayl shine and skin. These are the general terms used to define the shapes and sizes of different doors. We can not only customise the specifications of the bespoke internal doors but they can also reflect our individuality by the choice of shade we use to finish this internal door. Some of the most commonly used colours are: wenge, grey oak, walnut national, natural oak, teak, rosewood etc. Similarly, we can choose the glazing of the panels with shades of bianco lucido, vetro nero lucido, vetro roso lucido, specchiato chioao etc. the door designs can be customised in: line, zenith, twin, poker etc. styles. These too encapsulate the beauty of the bespoke internal doors.

Oak is a type of wood which is used since early days to make wooden articles weather staircases, doors, tables or chairs. Oak wood is the preferred choice because of its strength and longevity. It is a hardwood so it can endure large weights and does not get attacked by the pests easily too. Bespoke oak doors are more used to fabricate the external doors like the main house door or a garage door. Oak wood if maintained properly by applying the right chemicals and paints can last for ages without a single crack in it.

A person longing for a traditional look at his place will surely prefer to put a bespoke staircase made out of oak or timber, right at the entrance. Besides the look, a bespoke wooden staircase produces a typical ‘lub-dub’ sound which is cherished by many. As in the case of bespoke internal doors, closets, tables and chairs, bespoke staircases can also be made according to the wish and specifications of the individuals. They can be given any shape and size to fit in the construction well. Painting the staircase with the well suited enamel also adds up to the overall beauty of a home.

Even though concrete and different metals may have been the preferred choice of many to construct their homes but the bespoke woodwork has its own share of followers who prefer to stick to the classic styling at their homes.
